Break the rules or stick with tradition? Why choose when you can have it all!
When the right people are present, magic does happen, and this was exactly the case for this rich and contemporary styled wedding shoot at the Jockey Club Rooms in Newmarket.
Overflowing from the mantelpiece, filling the centre of the table, casually left on the grand piano, and in the bride’s embrace: flowers were the core of the shoot, and everything flowed from there. The eclectic mix of long stemmed roses, delphiniums and ranunculus were simultaneously the dreamy background, centrepiece, and the inspiration behind the wedding cake.
Three wedding gowns were chosen for this photoshoot to showcase three completely different approaches to a wedding – the JCR was a private members’ club until relatively recently, and has the potential to host many styles of wedding. A classic ballgown option to match perfectly with Hollywood waves and bold makeup; a fitted dress with a long veil and a loose updo paired with natural looking makeup, and finally a rich and playful tulle-skirted gown that flaunted bare feet and longed to be jumped in.
The photographer tells a different story with each photo – from a doll-like bride, posed to perfection as a fragile work of art, to a playful bride full of character, with a twinkle in her eye and a brazen attitude. Photographs were made using the beautiful available light with the backdrop of prized paintings and exquisite art.
The shoot was brought to life by ten women, who dubbed themselves The Dream Team
