Introducing The Texture Rolling Pin – A style game-changer for wedding cakes

Stylish wedding couples can explore new design ideas with their cake designers from this month thanks to a new game changing innovation from Dorset-based cake stand designer, Prop Options, called The Texture Rolling Pin.

Available in 19 carefully curated designs and two size options to suit different height tiers, The Texture Rolling Pin, seamlessly imprints onto edible mediums such as fondant, sugar paste and modelling chocolate, providing an efficient and effective tool for striking textural designs in moments.

Bradley Young, Managing Director at Prop Options, said: “We wanted to create something that complemented our 3D printed tiers, whilst also giving wedding couples and their cake designers unrivalled design options to bring their creative visions to life. Given the popularity of our 3D Reeded Tier separator – which features vertical line detailing – we set about creating the equivalent design in a rolling pin to enable designers to replicate this style on their own tiers.

“Once we were happy with the design and its capability to imprint texture seamlessly, the range naturally evolved until we had developed 19 different pattern offerings!”

“We have such a diverse and talented mix of cake decorators in our community”, continues Bradley, “…ranging from established designers to hobby bakers and aspiring cake artists – and we always want to ensure the products we design fit with their needs. The Texture Rolling Pin is the first tool of this kind that we’ve created, and so we invited our customers to test them and share the results ahead of the pins going live.”

Miranda from the Margate-based Pretty Petal Cake Co was one of the designers to sample the pins. Miranda said: "These textured rolling pins are a joy to use. The designs are stunning and they're a simple yet really effective way to add a whole new level of creativity to cakes. I NEED them all!”.

Ayo from Tabi Luxe Cakes in Hertfordshire tested the ‘Tide’ pattern design, and said: “Drama? Always. Basic? Never. The Tide rolling pin came to match my energy! Love it so much” 

Alongside the Reeded and Tide patterns, The Texture Rolling Pin range includes Olive, Zigzag, Honeycomb, Geo, Mandala and Palm prints, with a further 12 designs available. The pins are available to distribute internationally from the UK, with current plans underway to ship them domestically from the EU, UAE, Australia and the US in the not-too-distant future. The first 50 customers to purchase a pin will also receive a free 1kg bag of Saracino’s coveted Pasta Cover.
